HomeSystem TutorialWindows SeriesOptional updates for Win11/10 will be pushed to the fourth week of every month starting next month

Microsoft announced that starting in April, Windows optional updates (sometimes including new features and major improvements) originally scheduled to be pushed out in the third week of each month will be pushed out in the fourth week of each month.

Microsoft believes that the fourth week of every month will be the best time for users to download and install these Windows 10 or 11 updates.

Similar to the previous content, this update allows your PC device to experience new features in advance, but you need to manually check for updates in Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates.

This new update schedule means that optional updates will arrive two weeks after the monthly security patch is released, and exactly two weeks after the next mandatory update . In order to better understand these changes, IT House will briefly explain the differences between "functional updates", "quality updates" and "Moments updates".

Microsoft provides "quality updates" to supported PCs every month, unlike Windows 22H2, which is a large "feature update" that only comes once a year.

After the launch of Windows 11, Microsoft adopted a different update strategy from Win10, aiming to provide users with "creative updates" on a regular basis. This type of frequent feature updates is called "Moment" within Microsoft. Update" is also different from large updates such as 22H2.

Chris Morrissey, senior director of Windows and Device Communications at Microsoft, explained that this change will provide a better experience for everyone involved in Windows system updates.

Prior to this, Microsoft has created three terms: "B", "C" and "D" based on the time of monthly patch release. The main difference is the order of time.

Morrissey added: "The optional non-security preview now replaces what we used to call a C or D version update to align with the current process. This move will further simplify the Windows update process.

mPDF

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
