According to the editor’s understanding, Ravi Kunwar, HMD Global’s vice president for India and Asia Pacific, said that the new HMD The Global brand will be officially launched in the first half of 2024, and India will become its main target market.
The company plans to build a comprehensive product ecosystem by releasing a variety of HMD-branded products, including smartphones, tablets, feature phones and IoT devices.
HMD-branded products in different markets will have different pricing strategies and will be designed to meet specific consumer needs, thereby distinguishing them from the Nokia product line.
HMD Global plans to manufacture all HMD brand equipment domestically in India and export these products to other regions. In addition, HMD Global has apparently partnered with Foxconn, Dixon, Lava and other companies to produce smartphones in India and is exporting feature phones to the African market.
