According to news on October 8, Shen Fei, senior vice president of NIO Energy, shared the energy replenishment plan for electric vehicle battery swapping and charging through Weibo last night, and emphasized the efficiency of battery swapping. At the same time, he also mentioned the difference in charging time between range-extended vehicles and pure electric vehicles.
Shen Fei pointed out that battery swapping is an excellent choice for long-distance travel of electric vehicles. Compared with charging, it can save a lot of time. He posted data on Weibo, showing that during the long holidays when long-distance travel and demand for battery swaps increased significantly, the average battery swap time for NIO users was almost the same as usual, about 9 to 10 minutes. Although the number of high-speed battery swaps has increased by approximately 4 times, the entire battery swap time remains within 12 minutes.
In addition, Shen Fei also specifically mentioned the comparison of charging times between extended-range vehicles and pure electric vehicles. He said that without counting the steps of placing an order, scanning the code, inserting the gun and settling the bill, NIO users can charge at NIO's charging piles in about 30 to 40 minutes, which is faster. Some mainstream extended-range electric vehicles take 50 to 60 minutes to charge at NIO’s charging piles
According to data, NIO set a new record during the Double Holidays A new record for power replacement demand. On October 5th alone, the number of battery swaps reached 78,233 times, of which the number of high-speed battery swaps reached 25,021 times
With the opening of the G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway Wushan Service Area Battery Swapping Station on September 30 Officially put into use, NIO has built a total of 1,931 power swap stations across the country, including 572 high-speed power swap stations (as of October 2). This forms a high-speed power exchange network covering 6 vertical, 4 horizontal and 8 large urban agglomerations. It is reported that they plan to continue to expand this high-speed power exchange network to complete the goal of covering 19 large urban agglomerations in 9 vertical and 9 horizontal directions by 2025.
