One of the major new features of Brave 1.56 is its new off-recording mode. The new browse mode allows the browser to Users visit certain websites containing sensitive information without leaving a record on their device.

Brave points out that using private browsing mode has many advantages over other options. One point about Off The Record is that it's automatic, but that also means it only works on supported sites.

This mode is automatically applied to sites using logos and pre-made site lists. When the user selects "Turn off recording" mode or access the site normally, the site will provide corresponding prompts.

Another new feature in Brave 1.56 is support for custom keyboard shortcuts. Brave users can load brave://settings/system/shortcuts to display a list of shortcuts.

#There they can find the option to delete existing keyboard shortcuts and add custom shortcuts. The available actions are very extensive, ranging from common actions like back, forward, and reload to closing a tab, selecting the last tab, or exiting the browser.

Actions can be mapped to single keys or key combinations. Brave will warn you if a keyboard shortcut is mapped to another action.

The latest version of Brave browser also adds new features that support certificate transparency. Browsers such as Google Chrome and Apple Safari already support this feature.

Certificate Transparency is an Internet security standard that may reveal certificates that "were issued without the request of the true owner, such as a malicious certificate from a compromised certificate authority."

Brave Software has shown off a number of additional features planned for inclusion in Brave 1.54 in the past, but these features are not included in this release. Missing features include new forgetful browsing functionality and localhost protection.

Software engineers have fixed several issues in Brave 1.56, such as login issues on Live.com, using side panel extensions in some cases Or crash when opening a private window, etc.
