Vue Tutorial: How to use HTMLDocx to convert HTML content to Word documents

In web development, it is often necessary to convert HTML content to other formats, such as Word documents. This tutorial will introduce how to use Vue and the HTMLDocx library to implement this function.

  1. Install HTMLDocx

First, we need to install the HTMLDocx library in the Vue project. Open the terminal and switch to the project root directory, execute the following command:

npm install htmldocx

This will install the HTMLDocx library into our Vue project so that we can use it in the code.

  1. Create HTML content

Before converting HTML content to a Word document, we first need to create an HTML page containing the required content. You can use Vue components or write HTML code directly in Vue templates.

Here is a simple example:

<template>
  <div id="app">
    <h1 id="Hello-World">Hello World!</h1>
    <p>This is a sample HTML content.</p>
  </div>
</template>
  1. Import HTMLDocx library

Next, import the HTMLDocx library in the Vue component and use it to Convert HTML content to Word document.

<script>
import htmlDocx from "htmldocx";

export default {
  name: "App",
  mounted() {
    // 获取HTML内容
    const htmlContent = document.getElementById("app");

    // 创建Blob对象
    const blob = htmlDocx.asBlob(htmlContent.outerHTML);

    // 创建下载链接
    const url = URL.createObjectURL(blob);

    // 创建下载按钮并添加下载链接
    const downloadButton = document.createElement("a");
    downloadButton.href = url;
    downloadButton.download = "sample.docx";
    downloadButton.textContent = "Download Word Document";

    // 将下载按钮添加到页面中
    document.body.appendChild(downloadButton);
  },
};
</script>

First, we get the root element of the Vue instance, which is the HTML content, through the document.getElementById method. Then, use the htmlDocx.asBlob method to convert the HTML content into a Blob object.

Next, we use the URL.createObjectURL method to create a URL that points to the Blob object. We assign the URL to the href attribute of the download button.

Then, we create a <a></a> element as a download button, and assign the download link, file name and display text to href and download respectively. and textContent properties.

Finally, we add the download button to the tag of the page.

  1. Run the project

Now, we have completed the entire process. Run the Vue project and view the page in the browser.

When the page is loaded, a download button will be automatically created. Clicking this button will download the Word document, which contains the content we defined in the HTML page.

Although we only provide a simple example, the HTMLDocx library supports more complex HTML content. You can create HTML pages containing tables, images, styles, and other elements and convert them into Word documents using this library.

Summary

Convert HTML content to Word documents easily using the HTMLDocx library. Through this tutorial, we learned to install the HTMLDocx library in a Vue project and how to use it to convert HTML content into a Word document. This feature is ideal for web applications that need to export the generated HTML content to other formats. Hope this tutorial helps you!

It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
