You'll soon be able to close tabs in Microsoft Edge with a double-click

Microsoft Edge is getting another update in the Canary channel, which brings a few new features, including a new feature that lets you close Microsoft Edge tabs with a double-click.
For those who don’t know, Edge Canary is a raw and unfinished browser compared to the stable, beta, and development versions. The experience of using the Canary browser is usually not as stable as the stable version of the browser you used before. Bugs and new features may appear at any time, one of which is the ability to close tabs with a double click.
Microsoft has been making various improvements to tab management in the browser to make it faster, easier to use, and more manageable. You can now use gestures to manage tabs in Edge. The first gesture, available on desktops and tablets, lets you close a tab with a double tap.
This feature is being rolled out as part of Accessibility improvements and needs to be turned on manually from Settings:
- Browse Settings.
- Go to the Accessibility tab.
- Enable "Double-click the close browser tab button".
When finished, you can double-click any tab to close it. You can use an existing shortcut key (such as Ctrl W) to close a tab.
Over the years, Microsoft has slowly improved Edge’s tab management, allowing you to manage the tabs in the left sidebar while browsing the web.
This function may disappear suddenly or be delayed, so special attention is required. For example, Microsoft Edge was supposed to get the Workspaces feature (a new way to organize tabs) last year, but the feature has since disappeared and its return has not been announced.
In short, Edge Canary is a work in progress. It is updated with fixes and features almost daily, and stability is not guaranteed.
Microsoft automatically hides the forward button in Edge
Microsoft is trying a new change that hides the "forward" button to simplify the address bar. If the browser automatically hides the forward button, the position of the refresh and home buttons will also change.
There is no notification or option to easily disable it, but you can disable the experiment using the following command line code:
--disable-features=msEdgeForwardButtonOnlyShowWhenEnabled
