Accessory maker Hyper today announced the release of a new turntable dock for the 24-inch iMac, which features a 360-degree rotation mechanism to easily turn the screen towards clients or colleagues in the office, or adjust yours during a video call vision.
Nominated for a 2022 CES Innovation Award, the dock also features a built-in SSD enclosure (M.2 SATA/NVMe) with a simple one-click release mechanism and supports up to 2TB of storage space, and nine connectivity options, including 1 HDMI port, SD and microSD card slots, 1 USB-C port, 4 USB-A ports, and power input.
The base costs $199.99, comes in silver and white finishes, and can be ordered starting today on Hyper’s website.
Hyper also announced what it claims is the world’s first Thunderbolt 4 hub with integrated 100-watt GaN power. The hub features one Thunderbolt 4 upstream port for connecting and charging Thunderbolt-equipped computers such as Macs, while three Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports provide up to 40 Gbps of total bandwidth and support for connecting dual 4K displays at 60Hz or a single at 30Hz 8K monitors.
"Until now, Thunderbolt 4 hubs have included a large external power block, often larger than the hub itself," said Daniel Chin, president of Hyper. "By integrating the latest GaN technology into the HyperDrive, Hyper eliminates the big power block and introduces a hub and charger device for improved portability and cleaner workspace aesthetics."
The Hub Supports USB-C Power Delivery and can also provide up to 96W pass-through charging for the host, suitable for 14-inch MacBook Pro.
