Windows 11 Sun Valley 2 可以让用户界面尘土飞扬的旧角落焕然一新

Windows 11 or Sun Valley update promises a UI overhaul and a more modern interface look based on WinUI design principles. Unfortunately, the initial Windows 11 version fails to update several legacy interfaces that have been around for a while (since the Windows 98 days).

Windows 11 version 22H2 “Valley of the Sun 2” is expected to update a lot of the old UI with a big WinUI revamp and change many major elements of the Windows interface. All of this comes on top of the arrival of missing features like drag-and-drop support, so 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Windows fans, too.

In Build 22572, Microsoft is testing a modern dialog box with built-in printing functionality that can be launched from native applications such as Notepad. When you print a document from Notepad or WordPad, you'll see a modern interface based on WinUI and Fluent Design principles to be consistent with the rest of the Windows 11 UI.

Unlike Word, applications like Notepad rely on Windows' built-in Print dialog box, which allows users to create PDFs or print text using connected hardware.

As you can see in the screenshot above of the modern print dialog, Microsoft has updated buttons like Printer to use WinUI 2.6. However, the design update removes some features such as Printer Preferences, Locations, and other advanced options available in older versions.

The redesigned dialogs are part of the Windows Insider Program, and if you're running a Dev Channel build, you can try it out now. In addition to the modern print dialog, Microsoft is also testing a new version of the Windows subsystem for Android as well as a series of taskbar improvements, including a floating system tray icon

These features are currently only available in the Insider program, but They should be available to everyone as part of Sun Valley 2 later this year.
