Luckily, macOS makes it easy to remove associated devices from your Apple account. No matter what version of macOS your system is running, the following steps are the same.
- Open System Preferences on your Mac from the Dock.
- Next, click on the Apple ID option with the Apple logo in the upper right corner of the window.
- This will take you to Apple ID settings. Here, scroll down to the bottom of the left pane. You'll see a list of all the devices you've used with your Apple account.
- Now, select the device you want to remove or unlink from the left pane. Next, click Remove from Account on the right side of the window.
- When the system prompts you to confirm your operation, just click "Delete".
Go ahead. It's very easy to unlink any old device.
You can repeat the above steps until you have removed all old devices from your Apple account. Keep in mind that if the devices you just unlinked are still signed in with your Apple ID, they will reappear. Therefore, make sure you have logged out of any device you want to remove.
