Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22526 to the Dev Channel. Among them, Microsoft didn't really highlight any major changes other than "includes a nice set of changes and improvements and fixes." First the changes and improvements:

  • Starting with Build 22518, Credential Guard is now enabled by default on enterprise-joined Windows 11 Enterprise (E3 and E5) licensed PCs.
  • We are trying to index more file locations to make it faster to find important files using search in File Explorer.

Continuing with the list of fixes, they are:

  • Done Some work to help resolve the following issue: If you use search in File Explorer and then explorer.exe crashes, it will not work the next time you try to search in File Explorer.

[Search]

  • We’ve made another fix to help resolve an issue with recent search popups getting stuck on the screen ( Appears transparent except for borders).
  • Improved the resolution of application icons displayed in search results when display scaling is set to greater than 100%.

  • If you are using the spotlight collection, the current image should be migrated when upgrading (if you are upgrading version is Build 22523 or higher).

[Widgets]

  • Fixed a problem where the widget board might not appear when hovering over an entry point on a secondary monitor Correct resolution issue.
  • Resolved an issue where the widget board would be temporarily blank, showing only the "Add Widget" button (also opening as a blank dialog box).

[Other]

  • The Microsoft Store should no longer display a message that trying to install the latest Web Media Extensions update returned error code 0x80073CFB.
