The mobile analytics company has released the results of a study measuring the global impact of 5G networks. Unsurprisingly, the report shows that download speeds almost doubled in markets offering the latest generation of mobile data networks.

For example, average download speeds in Germany increased from 22.6 Mbps to 48.7 Mbps, while users in Saudi Arabia saw average download speeds increase from 13.6 Mbps to 31.1 Mbps. Meanwhile, South Korea broke the 100 Mbps average cellular data speed barrier for the first time, rising from 52.4 Mbps in 2019 to 129.7 Mbps in 2021.

The first markets began rolling out 5G in the second and third quarters of 2019. Initially, 5G arrived in South Korea and the United States, but other markets quickly followed, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and Australia.
