Home >Common Problem >The Microsoft Garage project Journal is now Microsoft Journal and becomes an official project
The Microsoft Garage, a project that allows Microsoft programmers to work on things unrelated to their primary jobs, has seen the Journal project graduate into an official Microsoft project and receive Microsoft's new name Magazine. To celebrate its new status, the Microsoft Journal team updated the app to give it a Windows 11 look and feel, adding additional colors and materials.
For those unfamiliar with Microsoft Journal, the app is a digital ink solution that allows you to write down your thoughts, draw and even annotate your PDF. In fact, from usage data, the team was able to see that 59% of documents edited in Microsoft Journal are PDF files, while the other 41% are blank files. The team also notes that while it does collect usage data, it doesn't know the content of your journal; this allows it to put work into the features people care about most.
To speed up the software and enhance privacy, MicrosoftJournal uses artificial intelligence to recognize on-device editing and semantic gestures. Commenting on the use of artificial intelligence in the program, Stevie Bathiche, fellow and head of Applied Sciences Technology at Microsoft, said: "We are entering an era of computer-assisted reasoning in which artificial intelligence accelerates tasks that people do and make us all more productive. Log shows how powerful the experience can be when software predicts your intentions. This is just the beginning."
If you use Microsoft Diary, you should receive the latest updates in the next few days. Alternatively, you can head to the Microsoft Store and buy it now, which is also available for new users.
