'iPhone 14 Pro' may adopt a larger punch hole and pill design
New schematics of so-called "iPhone 14 Pro" appear to show that the hole-punch replacement for the notch may be much larger than originally thought for the iPhone 14 series.
Rumors surrounding the "iPhone 14 Pro" and "iPhone 14 Pro Max" claim that Apple will do away with the infamous and much-copied notch in favor of a punch-hole and pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen. While the design is thought to reduce the amount of intrusion into the display, leaks suggest it may not be as reduced as expected. The display of the iPhone 14 models comes with a punch-hole and pill layout at the top of the display.
The image is overlaid on top of the rendering that is assumed to be displayed, and the two do not exactly match. While the renders show both display gaps to be very small, the image shows the elements to be roughly twice as large as speculated.

If true, the dual-hole design may take up a lot of display space, although not necessarily as much as the existing notch design. The size may make it easier for consumers to notice it, but it remains to be seen whether it will deter upgraders and if Apple does go ahead with this.
It’s unclear whether non-Pro “iPhone 14” models will also feature a dual-hole design, as current rumors suggest that the Pro model will get the change. The notch could be replaced with a hole-punch camera, although there are also suggestions that non-Pro devices could retain the notch for a year.
Other rumors point to the loss of the rear camera bump and an upgrade of the camera sensor from 12 to 48 megapixels.
The above is the detailed content of 'iPhone 14 Pro' may adopt a larger punch hole and pill design. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
