Microsoft has announced plans to roll out new features to Windows 11 in February 2022. This is thanks to the modular nature of Windows. For those who don’t know, Microsoft has changed the way it delivers updates with a new feature called Experience Packs.
With Experience Packs and the Microsoft Store, Microsoft can independently release new features and update existing apps instead of rolling out major operating system updates. Microsoft hasn't had much luck with big Windows feature updates, so the company wants to roll out some features separate from big Windows updates.
In February, Microsoft will launch a new experience pack that can be easily downloaded and installed to enable additional features. One of the new features in the Windows 11 February update is a mute and unmute toggle on the taskbar, which was previously tested in the Dev Channel.
This feature was originally teased at a June 2021 event and is designed to eliminate the need to switch back and forth between video conferencing apps.
Currently, Windows 11’s taskbar mute/unmute toggle only supports Microsoft Teams, but support for more apps may be added in the future.
Android App Public Preview
Windows 11 Build 21H2 Build 22000 will finally get support for the highly anticipated Android apps next month.
As you may already know, Microsoft announced the ability to run Android apps natively on Windows 11 in 2021, including apps available outside of the Amazon App Store. Microsoft has been testing the feature since October 2021 and is now heading towards its first public rollout next month.
#We have been testing Android apps for some time now, and these mobile apps are treated as native Windows Store or Win32 apps on the desktop.
You can pin these Android apps or run them in parallel, and in addition, notifications for Android apps will also appear in the action center. Additionally, you can copy and paste clipboard data between Android and Windows apps.
Android support is driven by Windows Subsystem for Android and Windows Subsystem for Linux, and is only available on devices with at least 8GB of memory.
Microsoft wants the integration to be as seamless as possible, but support for dedicated graphics is currently missing, so you won't be able to run certain apps or games smoothly through the Windows Subsystem for Android.
New native apps
In addition to taskbar and Android app support, Microsoft has also confirmed the launch of two new redesigned apps - Notepad and Media Player.
The above is the detailed content of Windows 11 will get a bunch of new features in February 2022. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
