HomeDatabaseOracleOracle installation completed: start learning database

In recent years, database technology has attracted much attention, especially relational database systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, etc. As the leader among them, Oracle database's powerful functions and wide range of applications have also made it one of the necessary technologies for companies, enterprises and various institutions. Well, in this era of opportunities and challenges, I also decided to start learning this technology, and successfully completed the installation of Oracle a few days ago, starting my database learning journey.

Oracle database is not only powerful, but also relatively complex, so its installation is also quite complicated. During my installation process, I encountered many problems, some of which required multiple consultations before progress was made. However, there is a guide book that is very helpful for me to install and learn Oracle database, and that is "Oracle Database Revelation".

Before installing the Oracle database, you need to download the software first. Oracle's official website provides the Oracle installation program. Users only need to select the correct installation program according to their own system version, and then download it locally. I selected Oracle Database 11g Release 2 for Microsoft Windows (x64) and was ready to start my installation journey.

In the process of installing the Oracle database, a lot of preparation work is required. These tasks include checking the system environment, creating databases, installing corresponding environment variables for Oracle users, configuring Oracle listeners, etc. In the process, I encountered quite a few problems. Among them, the problem that troubles me the most is an error when starting the Oracle service (Oracle service will be automatically created after I install Oracle).

First, I tried to start the Oracle service through the "Service" manager, but the computer prompted that the service could not be started. Later, I found a solution. I opened cmd.exe and then dragged cmd.exe and Windows Service Manager into the same window so that I could type commands in the cmd command line. Enter "net start OracleServiceXXX" on the command line, where XXX is the name I took when creating the Oracle database, and then press Enter to execute until the program runs normally.

After the Oracle installation was completed, I also had more opportunities to learn database-related content. Oracle database is a feature-rich and powerful database system. It not only supports SQL language, but also supports stored procedures, triggers, views, indexes, constraints and other functions. In-depth learning of these functions requires a solid computer foundation and sufficient database knowledge reserves. Therefore, before formal in-depth study, I need to master some basic knowledge, such as how to create and use tables, how to import and export data, how to build a standardized database model, etc.

For beginners, these contents may not be familiar yet. However, this is not a problem, because there are now many database learning resources, such as official documents, tutorials, forums, etc., which can help us get started faster and master relevant knowledge.

In short, the completion of Oracle installation is only the starting point for database learning. I need to continue to learn, practice, and summarize in order to better master Oracle database technology and apply it to actual work. In future studies, I will also share my experience, hoping to bring some inspiration and help to more beginners.
