Teams will get video editing feature in September

We know you haven’t heard anything about Microsoft’s super-popular conferencing app in a while, so we’re here to share some of the latest news involving the software.

Until then, though, keep in mind that Teams on the web recently gained background effects and live captions, and there's also talk of some improved AI-driven features.

Also, since we are discussing this app, please remember that if your Bluetooth headphones are not working properly or the file is not downloading, we can help.

Now let’s get back to the matter at hand and let you know that your favorite communication app will also soon receive a video editing feature.

Get ready for Teams’ new video editing feature

During the 2022 Inspire event, the Redmond-based tech company virtually announced a new Teams video editing feature functionality, in addition to other announcements including Excel Live and Viva Engage.

That being said, Microsoft hasn't really bothered to go the extra mile and actually let us know when users will be able to take full advantage of it.

However, that’s all about to change, thanks to a new post on the Microsoft 365 roadmap page. Now we know which month Microsoft plans to bring the short video feature to the Teams app.

Judging from the details provided in the aforementioned roadmap page entry, the tech giant will therefore introduce the ability to create and view short video messages to Teams next month.

Microsoft also clarified that all Teams users on all platforms, including desktop, web, Android, Mac, and iOS, can benefit from the video editing feature.

So there’s no reason to feel left out as absolutely everyone can take advantage of this new innovation brought to Teams.

In case you didn’t know, the Teams video editing feature is designed to let you create short video messages to add more meaning to your conversations.

That being said, it’s unclear how short the video is, but it shouldn’t be longer than a minute or two.

And once you've recorded your video, you can also review it before sending it to others to make sure everything is OK. You wouldn’t want to send the wrong content to your boss, right?

While we’re on the topic of Teams, know that in addition to Video Clip, Microsoft is rolling out the ability to assign seats to participants next month.

However, this feature will be limited to PC and Mac computers, so don’t get your hopes up if you’re using a different platform.

Also, don’t forget that Microsoft Viva Target is now generally available to all users, so go check it out if you haven’t already.
