1. Uninstall mariadb

Check whether there is mariadb before, delete it if there is, and delete the previous configuration file/etc /my.cnf

[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep mariadb*
mariadb-libs-5.5.56-2.el7.x86_64
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -e mariadb-libs --nodeps
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep mariadb*
[root@localhost ~]# rm -f /etc/my.cnf
[root@localhost ~]#

2. Install dependencies

Upload all dependencies in lib to linux and install them with commands

[root@localhost lib]# yum -y localinstall *.rpm

3. Install MySQL 5.6

1. Unzip and copy the file to the directory you want to install (here I use /opt/mysql as the installation directory)

[root@localhost mysql_install]# tar -xzvf mysql-5.6.51-linux-glibc2.12-x86_64.tar.gz
[root@localhost mysql_install]# ls
lib  mysql-5.6.51-linux-glibc2.12-x86_64  mysql-5.6.51-linux-glibc2.12-x86_64.tar.gz
[root@localhost mysql_install]# cp -R mysql-5.6.51-linux-glibc2.12-x86_64 /opt/mysql
[root@localhost mysql_install]# cd /opt/mysql
[root@localhost mysql]# ls

To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:

  /opt/mysql/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
  /opt/mysql/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h localhost.localdomain password 'new-password'

Alternatively you can run:

  /opt/mysql/bin/mysql_secure_installation

which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default.  This is
strongly recommended for production servers.

See the manual for more instructions.

You can start the MySQL daemon with:

  cd . ; /opt/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe &

You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl

  cd mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl

Please report any problems at http://bugs.mysql.com/

New default config file was created as /opt/mysql/my.cnf and
will be used by default by the server when you start it.
You may edit this file to change server settings

4. Copy and modify the configuration file

[root@localhost mysql]# cp ./support-files/my-default.cnf /etc/my.cnf
[root@localhost mysql]# chown mysql:mysql /etc/my.cnf
[root@localhost mysql]# chmod 644 /etc/my.cnf

my.cnf The content of the configuration file is as follows: (Modify other configurations according to your own needs here)

Note the following points:

  • socket Write the directory we created in the third step above
  • basedir is the mysql installation directory
  • datadir is the data directory (here is the mysql installation directory data directory under the directory)
[mysql]
# 设置mysql客户端默认字符集
default-character-set=utf8
socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

[mysqld]
skip-name-resolve
#设置 13306 端口
port = 13306
socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
# 设置mysql的安装目录
basedir=/opt/mysql
# 设置mysql数据库的数据的存放目录
datadir=/opt/mysql/data
# 允许最大连接数
max_connections=200
# 服务端使用的字符集默认为8比特编码的latin1字符集
character-set-server=utf8
# 创建新表时将使用的默认存储引擎
default-storage-engine=INNODB
lower_case_table_name=1
max_allowed_packet=16M

5. Copy the startup script to the resource directory

[root@localhost mysql]# cp ./support-files/mysql.server /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld
[root@localhost mysql]# chmod +x /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld
[root@localhost mysql]# chown mysql:mysql /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld

6. Modify the startup script

[root@localhost mysql]# vim /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld

Note: Because, I did not add mysql It is installed in the /usr/local/mysql directory, so you need to modify the following two values in the startup file

basedir=/opt/mysql
datadir=/opt/mysql/data

7. Add the mysqld service to the system service

[root@localhost mysql]# chkconfig --add mysqld
[root@localhost mysql]# chkconfig --list mysqld

Note: This output shows SysV services only and does not include native
      systemd services. SysV configuration data might be overridden by native
      systemd configuration.

      If you want to list systemd services use 'systemctl list-unit-files'.
      To see services enabled on particular target use
      'systemctl list-dependencies [target]'.

mysqld          0:off   1:off   2:on    3:on    4:on    5:on    6:off

8. Use the command systemctl starts the mysql service (Active status is active (running), which means the startup is successful)

[root@localhost mysql]# systemctl start mysql
[root@localhost mysql]# systemctl status mysql
● mysqld.service - LSB: start and stop MySQL

Explain the InnoDB Buffer Pool and its importance for performance.Explain the InnoDB Buffer Pool and its importance for performance.Apr 19, 2025 am 12:24 AM

InnoDBBufferPool reduces disk I/O by caching data and indexing pages, improving database performance. Its working principle includes: 1. Data reading: Read data from BufferPool; 2. Data writing: After modifying the data, write to BufferPool and refresh it to disk regularly; 3. Cache management: Use the LRU algorithm to manage cache pages; 4. Reading mechanism: Load adjacent data pages in advance. By sizing the BufferPool and using multiple instances, database performance can be optimized.
