Sometimes the notebook power display is incorrect and needs to be corrected manually. So what is the correction method? This article will introduce to you how to calibrate the battery of a Win10 laptop.
Win10 laptop battery calibration method
Method 1: Standard calibration method, use the battery calibration in the notebook BIOS Function
Many brands of notebook computers have integrated battery calibration programs in their BIOS. Generally speaking in English, it is called "Battery Calibration", which means "battery power calibration". You can complete the battery calibration operation by directly entering the BIOS of your notebook. Taking an ASUS notebook as an example, I will briefly describe how to operate it. The operation method of other notebooks is similar.
Turn on the computer, press [F2] to enter the BIOS menu after the startup screen appears; use the left and right arrow keys to select to enter the Power menu.
Enter the Power menu and you will see the "Start Battery Calibration" option, select it and press Enter to execute.
When you select the "Battery Calibration" program
, the screen will turn blue and there will be an English prompt asking you to plug in the laptop's power adapter to the battery. Charge. After the battery is fully charged, the screen prompts the user to disconnect the power adapter. Then the notebook starts to continue to discharge the battery until the battery is exhausted.
Follow the on-screen prompts
This process will take a while. After the battery is exhausted and it shuts down automatically, then connect the power adapter to charge the battery, but Don't turn it on. The battery calibration process is not completed until charging is completed (the charging indicator light goes out).
Method 2: Necessary steps for manual battery calibration.
In the operating system (taking Windows XP as an example), enter "Power Options". Select "Always on" for "Power plan", set "Turn off monitor" and "Turn off hard disk" to the shortest time, and set system standby to "Never".
In "Alarm" of "Power Options", cancel all alarm options (Figure 4), the purpose is to allow the battery to be completely exhausted until shutting down.
Set power options
Cancel the battery alarm function
After setting, turn off all application, turn off WIFI, unplug the power adapter, and use battery power. Do not do any operation until the battery is exhausted and it automatically shuts down. This process is estimated to be relatively long, possibly several hours. After the discharge is completed, connect the power adapter and fully charge the battery to complete a battery calibration.
