When the prepaid instance specifications cannot meet your business needs, you can use the upgrade configuration function to upgrade the instance specifications.

Using the upgrade configuration function, you can upgrade the instance specifications or complete the following operations:

Convert the data disk billing method: convert the pay-as-you-go data disk to the annual and monthly data disk. The billing method of the system disk cannot be changed.

permanent upgrade basic bandwidth: You can modify the bandwidth of the public network, suitable for classic network type ECS instances and VPC type ECS instances that are not binding EIP. If you did not purchase public network bandwidth when you created the instance, that is, you did not assign a public network IP address, you can use this function to assign a public network IP address to the instance.

Change the public network bandwidth cost method: If your current public network bandwidth is charged at the use of traffic, you can use this function to change the billing method to fixed bandwidth.

After upgrading the configuration, you need to pay the price difference for the remaining time of the current billing cycle.

Restrictions

The use of the upgrade configuration function has the following restrictions:

                                                  Only applicable to prepaid instances, including annual and monthly subscriptions Instances and paid-per-week instances.

The interval between two change operations shall not be less than 5 minutes.

You can only upgrade the instance specifications (including the instance vCPU core number and memory capacity), and you cannot upgrade one of the configurations separately.

Log in to the ECS management console.

In the Configuration Upgrade and Downgrade Wizard dialog box, select Upgrade Configuration and click Continue.
