We all know that AngularJS is the exclusive name of Angular 1, and versions after Angular 2 began to be called Angular. Angular 2 is not an upgrade from Angular 1. Angular 2 uses TypeScript for rewriting, so the difference between AngularJS and Angular is relatively large. So what does it mean to enter the long-term support phase? This means that the team will only focus on delivering fixes for bugs that meet at least one of the following criteria:

• A security vulnerability was detected in the 1.7.x branch of the framework

• The version released by major browsers causes applications using AngularJS 1.7.x in production environments to stop working

• The version released by jQuery causes applications using AngularJS in production environments 1.7.x applications stopped working

So the development team stated that patch versions released after 1.7.0 such as 1.7.1, 1.7.2, they will not contain breaking changes , mainly to fix some bugs in the framework.
