This article mainly introduces you to the relevant information on how to add custom global functions in Laravel. The article gives two implementation methods. Friends in need can refer to it. Let’s take a look together. I hope to be helpful.

Preface

In daily development work, sometimes we need to add some custom global functions to Laravel. Of course, we can directly modify Laravel's Helpers.php file to achieve this (this is extremely not recommended).

Next we discuss the following two implementation methods:

No matter which of the following methods, you must create a custom Function PHP file

Method 1: Modify the bootstrap/autoload.php file in the Laravel root directory

Method 2: Modify the autoload configuration of composer.json and update composer’s autoload_files. php file

Create a PHP file functions.php containing custom functions. The file location is in the app/Helpers directory of the Laravel root directory

<?php
// 判断函数是否已经存在
if (!function_exists('test')) {
function test()
{
 return "test";
}
}

Method 1:

Modify the bootstrap/autoload.php file in the Laravel root directory and introduce a custom function

<?php
// 引入自定义全局函数
require __DIR__ . '/../app/Helpers/functions.php';

Method 2:

Modify the autoload configuration item of composer.json , add the custom function file to be introduced in files

"autoload": {
...
...
"files": [
 "app/Helpers/functions.php"
]
},

Update the autoload_files.php file of composer, enter the project root directory and execute the following command

composer dump-autoload
