font-family : cursive | fantasy | monospace | serif | sans-serif

The default value is determined by the browser.
Sequences can contain embedded font fonts. See the @font-face rules.
The corresponding script feature is fontFamily. Please see other books I have written.
Example:

div.fixedwidth { font-family: Courier, "Courier New", monospace }

Why is it useless to set font-family: "Microsoft Yahei" in css?

It is recommended to use font-family: "Microsoft YaHei";
Supports UTF-8 and GB2312 character sets.
Three situations in which it does not take effect:
1. When this attribute defines a global style, the label of the form class will not take effect and needs to be defined again, such as:
body {font-family: "Microsoft YaHei";} does not take effect for form input.
You also need to define an input {font-family: "Microsoft YaHei";}.

2. The Microsoft Yahei font does not exist on the local computer. Some systems do not have Microsoft Yahei by default, so it generally defaults to Song Dynasty. You only need to download a Microsoft Yahei font and install it.

3. Another issue is the character set. It is recommended to change the Chinese font-family: "Microsoft YaHei"; to font-family: "Microsoft YaHei"; and declare the character set to UTF-8 Or GB2312.
