Notes taken during the study process.

1. What can php be used for?

Web pages can be programmed using JavaScript. However, the capabilities of JavaScript are limited. JavaScript usually runs on the browser (client). It can create special effects on web pages: the background changes color when the mouse rolls over it, and the common pop-up menu when the mouse rolls over the web page. But if you want JavaScript to display "the total number of people who visited the website", it can't do anything, because it can only get the client's information, and the "total number of people who visited the website" is stored on the server side. Therefore, another programming language that can run on the server side is needed, and PHP language is one of them, because it can run on the Web server side. Therefore, the characteristics of PHP can be summarized as:

1. Running on the server side; most of the data of the WEB website is stored on the server side, and PHP is used to process the data stored on the server.

2. Cross-platform; the server can be a server on multiple platforms, such as Linux, Windows, and Unix. In this way, the efficiency of program writing can be improved.

3. Scripting language; PHP is run by writing scripts, which are lines of computer instructions, just like other scripts.

4. Free trial.

2. Download and install wampServer integrated environment

W——Windows; A——Apache; M——MySQL; P——php. Because they are often put together for trial use during development, they are packaged into wampserver, an integrated development package - a powerful web development platform.

Download: www.wampserver.com; switch to the English version in the upper right corner to enter the download interface and select your operating system:

When the green icon as shown in the picture appears in the lower right corner of the screen:

To check whether the installation is successful, you can enter localhost in the browser and select Enter. If the following interface appears, it means it is done!

3. Get started

Right-click the green icon in the lower right to select the language.

Click the icon to display phpmyadmin, which is a visual database management tool.

www is the root directory where web page files are stored.

In the MySQL console under MySQL, enter the default password of wamp in the pop-up window and press Enter to process data on the database.

4. The wamp service cannot be started after it is installed

The possible reason is that the Apache port is occupied. Just modify it to an unoccupied port number; the steps to modify the default port are as follows:

Click the icon to open the httpd.conf configuration file under Apache, ctrl+F, enter 80 and press Enter, modify listener 80 (modify to 8080); continue Find the next one: ServerName Localhost: 80; Ctrl+S can be modified, and then restart the service. Because the default port has been modified, the webpage visited in the future is no longer localhost/test.php; but needs to be localhost8080/test.php;

5. Modification of the webpage root directory

As mentioned earlier, www is the root where webpage files are stored. The directory can only be accessed by the server if it is placed in www, but not everyone wants to put it in a file. In this case, some configuration files need to be modified. 1. Click the green icon to open Apache>httpd.conf. After opening, use the shortcut key ctrl+f and enter documentroot. After searching, you can modify the file address in the configuration file, which is the folder you want to use to store web page files. Two places need to be modified: and . Then Ctrl+S to save, then click the icon to choose to restart the service. Modifications to the configuration file need to restart the service to take effect.

The next step is to test

Create a new .php file under the file you specified. For example, test.php Enter localhost/test.php in the browser URL and press Enter. If the statement is output, it is successful. But at this time, when you open the www directory of the icon panel, you still cannot enter the folder you set. At this time, you need to modify the corresponding configuration file. Open the wamp folder and find the wampmanager.ini and wampmanager.tpl files. Open the wampmanager.ini file, ctrl+F, enter menu.left and change the wamp directory line to the file path you want. Open the wampmanager.tpl file, ctrl+F, enter menu.left and modify the following line:

to:

and then restart the service. At this time, when you open the www directory, it will become the Demo directory, and when you open it, you will enter your file location.
