PHP Version of PHP5.2.x to 5.3.x, php5.2.x5.3.x

Incompatible changes

1. A new internal parameter parsing API has been applied to all binding extensions in 5.3. When incompatible parameters are passed to a function, NULL will be returned, but there are some exceptions. For example, the function get_class() returns FALSE when an error occurs.

2. Clearstatcache() no longer clears the cached realpath by default.

3. The array functions natsort(), natcasesort(), usort(), uksort(), array_flip(), and array_unique() will no longer accept objects as parameters.

4. The behavior of a function that passes parameters by reference changes when it is called by value. Previously functions that would accept parameters passed by value will now throw a fatal error; any function that previously expected a pass-through application but passed a constant or literal value when called will need to assign the value to a variable before calling.

5. The new mysqlnd library needs to use the new 41-byte password format of MySQL 4.1. Continuing to use the old 16-byte password will cause mysql_connect() and other similar functions to throw "mysqlnd cannot connect to MySQL 4.1 using old authentication." errors.

6. The new mysqlnd library will no longer read the MySQL configuration file (my.cnf/my.ini), which is different from the old version of the libmysql library. If your code depends on these configuration files, you can use mysqli_options () to load it explicitly. Note, this means that if MySQL support in PDO is compiled with mysqlnd, the PDO-specific constants PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_READ_DEFAULT_FILE and PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_READ_DEFAULT_GROUP will be undefined.

7. The __toString() magic method no longer accepts parameters.

8. Magic methods __get, __set, __isset, __unset, __call should always be public and cannot be static. The method signature is required.

9. Now the __call magic method is called when accessing private and protected methods, and static methods use __callStatic.

10. When a file is included or required in a function, the func_get_arg(), func_get_args() and func_num_args() functions cannot be used in the file.

11. Reserved keywords: goto, namespace

New Features

1. Add namespace support

2. Add static late binding (late static binding) support

Post static binding:

Principle: The class name of the previous "non-forwarded call" is stored. When making a static method call, the class name is the one explicitly specified (the class on the left side of the :: operator); when making a non-static method call, it is the class to which the object belongs.

"Late binding" means that static:: is no longer parsed into the class in which the current method is defined, but is calculated at actual runtime.

The so-called "forward call" refers to static calls through the following methods, self::, parent::, static::, and forward_static_call().

You can use the get_called_class() function to get the class name of the called method.

http://php.net/manual/zh/language.oop5.late-static-bindings.php

3. Add goto jump tag support with restrictions

4. Added native closure support, anonymous functions, usually used as callback functions.

5. Two new magic methods, __callStatic and __invoke

__callStatic: Used when calling an inaccessible method statically.

__invoke This method is automatically called when trying to invoke an object by calling a function.

6. Added Nowdoc syntax support, which is similar to Heredoc syntax, but contains single quotes.

7. Use Heredoc to initialize static variables, class attributes, and constants.

8. You can use the const keyword to declare constants outside the class.

9. The ternary operator has a short form $b = $a==1 ? : 0;

10. The HTTP stream wrapper will consider all status codes from 200 to 399 as successful.

11. Dynamic access to static methods

12. Exceptions can be embedded

13. A garbage collector for circular references has been added and is enabled by default

14. Mail() supports email sending logs.

PHP Dependency Injection: Improve Code TestabilityPHP Dependency Injection: Improve Code TestabilityMay 12, 2025 am 12:03 AM

Dependency injection (DI) significantly improves the testability of PHP code by explicitly transitive dependencies. 1) DI decoupling classes and specific implementations make testing and maintenance more flexible. 2) Among the three types, the constructor injects explicit expression dependencies to keep the state consistent. 3) Use DI containers to manage complex dependencies to improve code quality and development efficiency.

PHP Performance: Identifying and Fixing BottlenecksPHP Performance: Identifying and Fixing BottlenecksMay 11, 2025 am 12:13 AM

PHP performance bottlenecks can be solved through the following steps: 1) Use Xdebug or Blackfire for performance analysis to find out the problem; 2) Optimize database queries and use caches, such as APCu; 3) Use efficient functions such as array_filter to optimize array operations; 4) Configure OPcache for bytecode cache; 5) Optimize the front-end, such as reducing HTTP requests and optimizing pictures; 6) Continuously monitor and optimize performance. Through these methods, the performance of PHP applications can be significantly improved.
