Generally speaking, when we add a remote library to git, it is usually git remote add origin <url></url>
(you can use a real address instead of
But you may want to push your local git library to both github and open source China's Git@OSC. How to solve this problem.
Someone may use two or even more remote libraries, that is, add another remote library git remote add origin2
;
This method is very inefficient because you have to git push twice to complete the push to the two libraries.
In fact, there is another way. A remote library of git can correspond to multiple addresses, that is, I can make the remote library origin have multiple URL addresses. Here’s how:
First, let’s start from scratch. Suppose you now want to add 3 remote library addresses, respectively:
First, add the first address git remote add origin <url1></url1>
and then add the second address git remote set-url --add origin <url2></url2>
Add the third address git remote set-url --add origin <url3></url3>
....and so on
This completes adding multiple addresses to the origin library. In the future, just use git push origin master
to push to 3 libraries at once (you can also use git push
)
git remote set-url --add origin
is to add a line of record to the config file of the current git project.
config file can be opened in two ways:
Every time you execute git remote set-url --add origin
, one line will be added, as shown below:
git remote -v
: Display detailed information of all current remote libraries in the format of 远程库名字 url连接(类型)
So, you can also directly add the url in the config to modify it without having to execute the git command.
When using git push origin master
, you can push to multiple url addresses in origin.
But when using git pull
, you can only pull one url address in origin (i.e. fetch-url, as shown above). This fetch-url defaults to the first address you added to origin,
if you want to change it, you only need to change the order of the three URLs in the config file, fetch-url It will directly correspond to the UTL connection ranked first.
I recently saw this article, which is also good. The principle is similar: Host the project to Github and Git@OSC at the same time
