Supply chain insiders revealed that inventory preparation for this generation exceeds 10 million units, while analysts estimate annual shipments at 6–7 million units.

According to the report, Apple’s foldable phone design has long been finalized, and relevant manufacturers have already entered peak production season—the device is currently undergoing normal mass production. Multiple interviewed sources affirmed that delivery in September should be “no problem,” and stated they had “not heard” of any rumors about postponement previously circulating in the market. That said, Apple’s commercial rollout strategy—such as deliberate pacing of initial supply—may still affect early shipment timing. Tight availability during launch may not stem solely from capacity constraints, but could also reflect Apple’s intentional control over product launch cadence.
Moreover, the much-anticipated liquid metal hinge is unlikely to appear in the first-generation Apple foldable. Several industry insiders confirmed that the debut model does not adopt a liquid metal hinge solution. A spokesperson from Yian Technology’s securities department—named in online reports as a potential supplier—also stated no related orders have been received to date.
