In web pages automatically generated by Dreamweaver, the style sheet in the head is often in the form:
A set of html comment tags will be automatically added at the beginning and end of the style sheet: . If you think this is the same as the comment mark of HTML, using this to write comments will cause the style sheet definition to become invalid.
When the words
The latter is the correct HTML syntax. The two are not the same thing.
So, why is there such a pair of html comment tags in the automatically generated style?
This is for compatibility with older browsers. Old browsers do not support style, so when encountering style, the content of the style sheet will be displayed on the page. However, older versions of browsers recognize HTML comment tags, so after adding the tags
, this part of the content will be ignored as comments, and the style sheet will not be displayed on the page.
Browsers that support style will ignore the this comment will cause an error in the css style. Please replace it with /**/ This way of annotation.
