MacOS Sequoia 15 Beta 1 Available to Download Now

Apple has released the initial beta version of MacOS Sequoia 15 for users participating in the developer beta testing program for Macintosh operating systems.

MacOS Sequoia 15 brings a range of new functionalities and enhancements to the Mac, such as iPhone Mirroring, Apple Intelligence AI features, simplified window tiling, a new Passwords application, upgrades to Safari and Photos, among others. The first beta of MacOS Sequoia 15 includes some of these features, while others are yet to be added.

MacOS Sequoia 15 Beta Now Available for Registered Developers

If you have an Apple ID registered with the Apple Developer program, which you can join for free at developer.apple.com by accepting the developer terms, you can download MacOS Sequoia 15 beta 1 immediately.

Developer beta versions tend to be unstable and are not advised for everyday users or primary Mac systems. If you are not an experienced user, it's advisable to test the Sequoia beta in a virtual machine or wait for the public beta, expected in July.

Can Your Mac Run MacOS Sequoia Beta?

MacOS Sequoia is compatible with the following Mac models: MacBook Pro from 2018 onwards, MacBook Air from 2020 onwards, Mac Studio from 2022 onwards, iMac Pro from 2017 onwards, Mac mini from 2018 onwards, Mac Pro from 2019 onwards, and iMac from 2019 onwards. This information is provided directly by Apple.

How to Download MacOS Sequoia 15 Beta 1

It's crucial to back up your Mac using Time Machine before installing any beta system software, including any software updates. Make sure to do this before you proceed.

Navigate to the  Apple menu and select “System Settings”
Go to “General”
Click on “Software Update”
Click the (i) next to “Beta Updates” and choose “MacOS Sequoia Developer Beta” from the list (this option will only appear if your Apple ID is registered as an Apple Developer)
Click “Upgrade Now” to download and install MacOS Sequoia 15 beta

The Mac will need to restart to complete the installation of the MacOS Sequoia beta.

Subsequent beta updates will be available through the Software Update settings panel as usual.
