Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Ill Repute Walkthrough

Ill Repute is a side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Ill Repute side mission.

• Quest Description: The city council is going to vote soon to choose which baths in Kuttenberg to elevate to City Bathhouse status, which means it won’t have to pay high taxes. As might be expected, Betty’s Kingfisher bathhouse doesn’t have much chance because Adam, her biggest rival, is bribing councillor Jerome Naaz to award him the title.

Objectives:

1. Help Betty obtain the title of Municipal Bathhouse
2. Ask the bathhouse wenches about Councillor Naaz
3. Ask Mary about Councillor Naaz
4. Pour Chamomile Brew to the councillor’s cask of wine (Optional)
5. Find something infested with fleas (Optional)
   1. Pour the fleas into Naaz’s laundry chest unobserved (Optional)
   2. Pour the fleas into in the basket with clean laundry unobserved (Optional)
6. Steal the fragrant oil they add to the councillor’s bath (Optional)
7. Return to Betty
8. Gain Councillor Tuchmacher’s support
9. Win the duel on Tuchmacher’s behalf
10. Fight!
11. Return to Betty
12. Wait till the council convenes

Starting Location: Ill Repute

To start this quest, a few in-game days need to pass, then you can speak with Bathhouse owner Betty again at the Kingfisher Bathhouse. You can also be directed here by a quest tipster once the quest is available.

Help Betty obtain the title of Municipal Bathhouse

Betty needs your help obtaining the title of Municipal Bathhouse over Adam, and you will need to do some subterfuge to do it.

Ask the bathhouse wenches about Councillor Naaz

Head over to the City Bathhouse in the southwest corner of the city.

Inside you can speak with some of the girls about Councillor Naaz. Hanka will direct you to speak with Mary specifically, but not which one. If you speak with Lousy Mary she won’t actually have any info, but you can take the drink she offers and then get a free bathhouse experience. Meaty Mary is the girl you want to speak to for info.

You can speak with some others who will have other info. Katcha will tell you about an incident with flees and Naaz’s tub. Lida will ask you for a dress in exchange for information, which you can purchase one from the Tailor directly north of the bathhouse.

Ask Mary about Councillor Naaz

You have the option of passing either a Very Hard Perception or Hard Compassion skill check, or just paying her to give you the info you need.

After speaking with Mary you should have all three objectives. You only need to do one, but for the best result you can do all three.

It is possible complete all the objectives during the day, but there are many people walking around the bathhouse so this can be tough if you need to lockpick any doors. Completing objectives at night is easier, but you need to lockpick the Very Hard entrance door.

Pour Chamomile Brew to the councillor’s cask of wine (Optional)

With Mary’s info you can pour a dose of Chamomile Brew into the councillor’s wine. If you don’t have any currently, you can purchase some from the Apothecary north of the bathhouse.

To find the wine go up to the second floor, then through the door immediately left, though it may be locked. If there’s no one upstairs you can pick it, or try waiting for someone else to open it and sneak in behind them. Then go into the first door on the right where you can find the cask on stilts to pour the potion in.

Find something infested with fleas (Optional)

Finding something with flees is harder than it seems, as almost every beggar you ask will get mad because asking if they have flees is very rude. To find them, go to the east side of the city to the wall east of the Kuttenberg Town Hall Fast travel point.

In the corner by the tents you can find a sack to search, inside of which is a Flea-ridden blanket.

Pour the fleas into Naaz’s laundry chest unobserved (Optional) / Pour the fleas into in the basket with clean laundry unobserved (Optional)

On the second floor in the main bath room you can find a chest and a basket in the corner. You need to interact with these to sprinkle flees into them. Be careful doing this, as there may be someone in one of the baths who will spot you if you do it while they are there. You can try skipping time by an hour which will typically shuffle around the location of anyone in the room. When you are sure no one is in the baths is facing you, interact with the spots to sprinkle the flees.

Steal the fragrant oil they add to the councillor’s bath (Optional)

To steal the oil you need to go back up to the second floor again, then this time go up to the third floor. Be very careful up here as this area is considered trespassing and you will immediately have guards called if anyone spots you.

Go through the door immediately at the top of the stairs, then through the door on the right in the next room. Turn right again where you can spot a wooden cabinet, and inside is the Foreign fragrant oil that you need to steal.

Return to Betty

Once you are satisfied with all of your mischief, return to Betty at the Kingfisher to let her know what you’ve done.

Gain Councillor Tuchmacher’s support

Betty tells you about another councillor that you can try to gain the support of. Head to the middle of the city near the Town Hall fast travel point, then into the southern Tailor on the merchant street where you can find Tuchmacher running his shop.

When you have the timed dialogue, select the top option to avoid telling him about Betty. He then wants you to take his place in a duel in exchange for his support. The duel happens right in the morning, so if you are later in the day you have the option of waiting with him to automatically go to the duel spot.

Win the duel on Tuchmacher’s behalf

You have some possible dialogue choices before the duel starts, but you have to fight the duel no matter what. You are also required to fight him without plate armor on, using either a flail or hunting sword (you must unequip all other weapons except this one before you can start). This makes the duel a bit more difficult as you need to avoid being hit, but you can still wear clothing in every slot except helmet, plate, sleeves, and cuisses to mitigate damage. You can also use potions such as Artemisia and Buck’s Blood to help you out.

Fight!

Jan fights with a longsword, but he isn’t a very strong opponent. He will typically only block one attack and counter once, then you can bonk him on the head. After a few hits he should give up, then you can speak with Tuchmacher again to confirm your win.

Return to Betty

Head back to Betty once more to confirm you have Tuchmacher’s support.

Wait till the council convenes

Now that you’ve done all you can, you’ll need to wait around 3 -4 in-game days before you can return and find out how the vote went. You can go do other activities in between, you will receive an update to the quest automatically once you can return to Betty, you don’t need to check with her.

Return to Betty

Head back to Betty to learn about the results of the vote and complete the quest.
