4th Beta of iOS 17.6, macOS Sonoma 14.6, & iPadOS 17.6 Available for Testing

Apple has released the fourth beta of iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, and macOS Sonoma 14.6.

These beta versions are distinct from the ongoing beta releases for the upcoming major updates, which include iOS 18 beta, iPadOS 18 beta, and macOS Sequoia 15 beta. If you are already testing those betas, you won't receive notifications for the iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, and macOS Sonoma 14.6 betas.

These updates are not expected to introduce significant new features but are likely to concentrate on security enhancements and bug fixes.

How to Install iOS 17.6 / iPadOS 17.6 Beta 4

Launch the "Settings" app on your device
Navigate to "General" and then to "Software Update"
Opt to download and install the iOS 17.6 / iPadOS 17.6 beta 4 update

Your iPhone or iPad will need to restart to complete the installation.

How to Install macOS Sonoma 14.6 Beta 4

Click on the Apple menu and select 'System Settings'
Go to "General", then "Software Update"
Choose to install macOS Sonoma 14.6 beta 4

Your Mac will require a restart to finalize the installation.

While iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia 15 are slated for a fall release, iOS 17.6 is anticipated to arrive much earlier, possibly at the end of this month or in August.

If you're not keen on participating in the beta program, the most recent stable releases are iOS 17.5.1, iPadOS 17.5.1, and macOS Sonoma 14.5.
