"Doom: Dark Ages" full collection guide: Achievements, Trophys and 100% Completion
"Doom: Dark Ages" contains 142 collections, 163 secrets, 48 mission challenges and 6557 gold coins (4427 mission challenges have been collected and rewarded 1800 Destroy Hell fighter 330). Gold coins usually appear in different numbers, ranging from a single gold coin to a big treasure chest containing 50 gold coins. The 4427 gold coins collected are scattered in hundreds of locations in the game (not 4427 independent locations). Most collections also count as secrets, so you often get two items at a time.
It takes approximately 20 hours of game time to get 100% completion using this guide. Nothing will be missed, and all items can be regained after the story is over with chapter selection. The difficulty of the game doesn't matter, you can play and use accessibility and damage modifiers in the simplest difficulty, which won't disable trophy/achievement.
The following lists the collection types and their corresponding trophy/achievements:
-
26 pages of classics-
Classic master
-
24 Devil Toys-
Toy Collector
-
38 Rubys (4 of 34 Mission Challenge Rewards Collected) – 33 are required to fully upgrade all weapons to obtain
Gun Master Achievement
-
32 Demon Essences (11 Health 9 Armor 12 Ammunition) –
In essence unstoppable
-
11 ghost stones – all required to fully upgrade all weapons to obtain
Gun Master Achievement
-
11 Weapon Skins – No Trophy
-
163 Secrets – No trophy, but finding all collections will automatically complete the secret area
-
6557 gold coins (4427 mission challenge rewards 1800 hell fighter 330) – You need 5925 gold coins to buy all upgrades to get
Master of Firearms &
Berserker achievement.
Platinum Trophy and 1000 Gamerscore require everything except weapon skins and secrets, and only 5925/6557 gold coins and 33/38 rubies. There are 632 more gold coins and 5 rubies in total than you need, so it doesn't matter if you miss some, don't need to replay the entire chapter for this. You can buy upgrades in the Green Sentinel Temple, which are always on the main plot path. You can buy all the upgrades at the final Sentinel Temple as early as the last chapter, as you need all the ghost stones to buy the final upgrade of each weapon, and the last ghost stone appears in the last chapter.
When you get close to the collection, they are marked on the map. Check the map for each area. The collection you pick up will have a green checkmark on the map. When you replay a chapter, the entire map is revealed from the beginning and everything you have collected disappears (no re-collects are required). The gold coin can only be picked up once, so you can't brush it. You need to collect more than 90% of the gold coins in the game, and the rest comes from challenge rewards. The Favorites Guide displays everything in chronological order, playing by it, you can get 100% completion in each chapter on your first play, including all challenges.
BUG Warning:
-
Buy all shields/runes/melee upgrades to the Berserker achievements may fail if you purchase upgrades in different chapters. The confirmed solution is to keep all the coins/rubys until you can buy everything at once (5925 coins and 33 rubies). If you have PS, you can also make cloud archive backups. Then buy all the upgrades in the same Sentinel Temple at one time and it should unlock the trophy correctly (I bought everything in the final Sentinel Temple in Chapter 22 and it unlocked it normally). In the first Sentinel Temple in Chapter 2, you can exit the menu to avoid buying anything when the game provides tutorials. Even if you buy upgrades in different chapters, it doesn't always go wrong, but if it goes wrong, you will need to delete the save and start a new game from scratch. If you have made a PS cloud save, you can also try reinstalling the game, recovering the save, and purchasing everything again from your backup save.
- If you restart the checkpoint after you get the essence before you reach the next checkpoint, the Demon Essence may go wrong. Then get the essence again and does not increase the counter on the map and chapter selection (it is stuck at 0/1 collection). It's not clear whether this will also invalidate its trophy, as long as your attributes are increased, you may still get the trophy, but even if you replay the chapters and recollect, the counter will get stuck at 0/1 collection. The solution is not to restart the checkpoint so that this won't happen. As a precaution, you can make a PS backup archive at the beginning of each chapter, and then check that all collection counters increase correctly after the chapter check.
