This guide details how to complete the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun in Assassin's Creed Shadows of the Shogun. Crucially, this Kofun is only accessible as Yasuke, unlocked after completing Act 1. Naoe cannot interact with the necessary objects.

Step-by-Step Solution

Important: Only the male Samurai character, Yasuke (unlocked post-Act 1, after the "Mibuno Showdown" main quest), can complete this Kofun. Naoe lacks the required interaction capabilities. Therefore, despite its location in the early game area, it's inaccessible until later in the story.

Makino Kurumazuka Kofun is situated in Izumi Settsu > Yawata Plains.

1. As Yasuke, collect the explosive red jars outside the Kofun entrance. Carry one to the wall blocking the entrance and detonate it using a bow, teppo (rifle), or melee attack (though melee on higher difficulties may prove fatal). Bows/Teppo are obtainable from Gear Vendors, quest rewards, and loot chests.
2. Enter, take the right path, and push the shelf forward (only Yasuke possesses the strength for this).
3. Proceed to the next room, pull and then push the shelf aside to clear the path.
4. After ascending stairs, turn left, find two explosive jars, place one before the destructible wall, and detonate it.
5. Take another jar, go through the breached wall, and use it to destroy the wall upstairs.
6. Proceed, swim, climb stairs, and find another destructible wall. Destroy the wooden boxes to the right to reveal more jars. Throw one across the gap to the wall.
7. Detonate the jar to breach the wall, go through, crawl, and drop into the large room.
8. Push the shelf in the large room towards yourself, then against the opposite wall (facing the compass "N"). Climb the shelf and wall to escape the room.
9. Push aside the two shelves in the next room to proceed. Carry the jar downstairs to the room with the two previously moved shelves.
10. Push one shelf towards the small rock with a platform, and the other to the larger opening/cliff. Jump onto the shelves and platform, then throw the jar at the cliff-side wall to destroy it. Jump through the opening. Adjust shelf placement if necessary to achieve sufficient throw distance.
11. The final path leads to the legendary chest; opening it completes the Kofun.
