Xbox Game Pass will continue its great run through 2025 this week as some day-one releases drop alongside more than 30 new games coming to Xbox consoles. Game Pass subscribers have already been treated to the likes of the turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the Southern Gothic adventure South of Midnight, but the next batch of day-one releases includes a major first-party title.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is Game Pass' headliner this week, coming to the service when it launches on May 15, but there's another day-one release to look out for: Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo on May 16. The indie game's charming paper-craft art style will surely draw some attention on Game Pass, where it might stand out among the more than 30 other new games releasing on Xbox the same week, including a port of online fantasy life sim Palia and the roguelike spin-off Shovel Knight Dig (via Pure Xbox).

DOOM: The Dark Ages & Kulebra And The Souls Of Limbo Are On Game Pass Day-One

Two Vastly Different Experiences

Xbox Game Pass Day-One Releases Lead Off A Huge Week Of Over 30 New Games On Xbox

DOOM: The Dark Ages and Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo's day-one Game Pass releases join last week's Revenge of the Savage Planet, and offer two wildly different options. DOOM is as violent as expected from the legendary series, with a notable focus on melee combat this time around. Kulebra is comparatively tame but still has an acute focus on death, with players working to break souls in limbo free from cycles of emotional trauma so they can move on in the afterlife.

There has been a blitz of new Game Pass day-one games this year, and more are likely to be revealed next month when Microsoft hosts its annual Xbox Games Showcase in June. One of the expected day-one games coming later this year is The Outer Worlds 2, which will get its own direct accompanying the Xbox Games Showcase. DOOM and Kulebra should be able to tide over Xbox Game Pass subscribers for a while, but there are plenty of new games on Xbox not part of the service as well.
