The tutorial isn’t over in DOOM: The Dark Ages just yet, with Chapter 2 - Hebeth, introducing you to even more brutal weaponry to go about slaying demons with. And as is the case with most chapters, there is, of course, even more collectibles and secret locations to be on the lookout for.

DOOM The Dark Ages Hebeth walkthrough

During the Hebeth chapter in DOOM: The Dark Ages, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for the following:

• 9 Secrets
• 1 Codex Entry (Collectible)
• 1 Toy (Collectible)
• 1 Weapon Skin (Collectible)
• 1 Demonic Essence (Health)

As mentioned in our guide to Chapter 1 - Village of Khalim, remember that both secrets and collectibles aren’t necessarily in the same spot or unanimous with one another.

Similarly, you can look at the right-hand side of your map to view your collectible/secret locations progress at any time. The map also contains some pretty handy icons for any collectibles, secrets, or gold you’re missing whenever you’re standing nearby one, so open it often!

Secret #1

After DOOM: The Dark Age’s Shield Saw tutorial, use the Shield Saw to go through the door just up ahead. Once inside and on your left, use a Shield Bash to enter a secret location with cultists.

This is our first secret location for the chapter, and there is a Life Sigil here!

Secret #2 and Collectible #1

After collecting Secret #1, follow your quest objective through the door with the green sigil into the next area.

Next, head up the stairs and look to the right. There’ll be some crates you can climb up to enter a vent with a Toy Stalker Collectible at the end!

Collectible #2

Follow your quest objective again, and after going through the door that requires you to interact with a terminal, jump down in front of you to where the enemies are.

In the following corridor, there is Hot Metal that can be destroyed to open a gate on your right, however, you should take a left first (shown above). You’ll go past some allied guards before finding a Codex here.

Secret #3

After being introduced to Stone Imps and how to counter them, enter the Weapons Facility finally.

You’ll come to a room containing our first Sentinel Shrine – which is where you can upgrade your guns, melee weapons, and shield – as well as our first Gold Chest. There’s plenty of Gold here to grab, and you should be able to purchase your first upgrade before continuing.

Go into the hallway – the only accessible door here – to the left of the Sentinel Shrine, and keep going left until you reach the room with Imp enemies. They’ll have broken into the room through the wall; go through the opening that they entered by.

Keep left here, and there’s a door (shown above) that you can Shield Bash, leading to our third secret location which contains some Gold.

Secret #4

Follow your quest objective to the Blue Keycard, and then return to the Sentinel Shrine and go through the door that needs the Blue Keycard. You will have to deal with an enemy encounter in the room with the Sentinel Shrine first, however!

Continue into the Research Lab, where you’ll have another enemy encounter, and once that’s over, enter the hallway with the large head hologram.

To the left of the hologram is a vent that you can Shield Bash through. Climb inside to collect another Life Sigil and the fourth secret location for Hebeth.

Secret #5

When you find yourself back at the first Sentinel Shrine (after going through the Blue Keycard door and exploring the Research Lab), go out to the hallway to the left of the Shrine again. This time, take a right.

At the end of the hall, look to your right again, and look for a climbable wall above the downward path here (shown below).

Climb the wall to reach the next secret area, and retrieve some Gold.

Secret #6

Continue with the quest at hand and once you are outside of the facility, jump onto the rooftops that have gold bars on them. To your left, there is some hot metal you can Shield Throw at, allowing you to jump into a room.

In this room, turn the valve beside the door.

Outside, directly across from the door to the room we’re in, there is another door – which previously had multiple flames blocking off its entrance – that you can enter. Grab the Life Sigil and Gold in here and then go deal with the next enemy encounter.

Secret #7

During the next enemy encounter, there is a locked door in the corner with some Gold inside. You’ll be able to enter it once the encounter is over!

Secret #8 and Collectible #3

Continue past the point of no return and into the next area. Once you reach the second Sentinel Shrine (which you reach using your Shield Saw as a grapple hook on the green Flesh Node here), climb up the wall to your left. Just ahead, climb up the crates shown below into the open vent.

At the end of this vent, there is a Weapon Skin at the end (and enemies)!

Secret #9

After exiting the above vent, return to the Sentinel Shrine in this area. Along the wall to the right of the Shrine is a hidden, fleshy path you can walk through to access a Gold Crate.

That’s the last of the secrets for this level, but one more thing…

Demonic Essence (Health)

Last, but not least, defeat the Pinky Rider at the end of the level to receive the Demonic Essence Health upgrade from this chapter. This increases your total HP!
