How to respec in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Unlike most modern RPGs, you don't have carte blanche to respec whenever you want to in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Instead, you have to use rare items called Recoats.

Recoats are used for resetting both Attribute Points and Skill Points in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but only one at a time. So it actually takes two Recoats to fully respec one party member.

How to respec in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

You need to use a Recoat at Expedition Flag rest points to respec in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You can use one Recoat to reset a party member's Attribute Points or Skills. So if you want to get back all of a party member's Attribute Points and Skill Points, then you have to use two Recoats.

It's also worth noting that a Recoat is used once per character, not for the whole party. So you need lots of Recoats if you plan on resetting Attribute Points and Skill Points for your entire party. As Recoats aren't a common item, this means you should be careful with assigning your Attribute Points and Skills after using a Recoat - it might be a while before you can do so again!

How to respec Attribute Points

To respec Attribute Points in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, go to an Expedition Flag rest point and select 'Upgrade Attributes', then tab over to the character you wish to respec, and hold down the button used to consume a Recoat (this is Triangle on PlayStation controllers).

You'll get all of your Attribute Points back for that party member, and can now assign them wherever you like.

How to respec Skills

To respec Skills in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, go to an Expedition Flag rest point and select 'Learn Skills', then tab over to the party member you wish to respec, and hold down the button used to consume a Recoat (this is Triangle on PlayStation controllers).

You'll get all of your Skill Points back for that party member, and can assign them to whatever Skill you like, as long as you've unlocked the Skill that connects to it first.
