Act One of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 features several classic side quests where you collect items for NPCs. Later acts offer more complex side quests, and Hexga's is a notable example of this earlier style.

Should You Help Hexga?

Helping Hexga doesn't significantly affect the main storyline, but you'll miss out on a powerful early-game Picto if you don't. Since Hexga is non-aggressive unless provoked, assisting him is recommended. However, if you prefer, you can always attack him after completing his quest. The quest itself is relatively straightforward, though it involves some exploration in dark areas and a few unavoidable battles.

Finding Hexga's Rocks

Hexga's quest involves locating three "lustrous" rocks. He hints that they're in the nearby cave, conveniently aligning with the main story's progression. While not overly difficult, finding all three requires some searching.

Rock #1

This rock is near the first rope you descend. After descending, defeat the large crystallized monster on the slanted path. The first rock is immediately to your left.

Rock #2

Instead of proceeding up the path where you fought the first monster, head right. Take the left path at the intersection. You'll find another enemy guarding the second rock.

Rock #3

Return to the intersecting path leading to the manor door. A differently colored crystal, which is actually a disguised enemy (a Rocher), guards the final rock. Defeat it to obtain the third rock.

Once you have all three rocks, return to Hexga to claim your reward.
