Dodging: This fundamental element demands precise timing to evade enemy attacks. Perfect dodges often reward bonus AP, providing a strategic advantage against challenging foes. Later, "jump dodges" enable simultaneous counterattacks.

Parrying: For the truly skilled, parrying allows perfect deflection of attacks (or entire combos) resulting in devastating counterattacks, turning an enemy's offensive into significant damage.

The system achieves a superb balance. While players strategize skill, weapon, and upgrade synergies during the turn-based phases, defense relies heavily on real-time reactions. This prevents skill selection from being the sole determinant of victory, offering a more accessible entry point for different player types.
