"Eldon Farren: The Ultimate Guide to the Eternal Sleeping Genre"
Update: We have added two interactive maps to this guide to help you track all the items you need for the best Eternal Sleeping Genre in Eldenfari.
The Shadow of the Tree of Elder's expansion pack of Elder's Tree is a real gift for players who like to put their enemies into a sleep, as we can now use "Eternal Sleep". It has the same effect as previous sleep, but is slightly enhanced, allowing weaker enemies to fall into a nearly permanent sleep state.
So it doesn't work for bosses unless the enemy is a demiskin species, but it's really fun to get the monsters to take a nap and then quickly clean them up. It also makes rune collection much easier…so, without further ado, here’s our guide to the best Eternal Sleeping Genre in The Ring of Eldon: Shadow of the Tree of Eldon.

Elden Far Ring: The Shadow of the Elder Tree Best Eternal Sleeping Centre
First, if you are creating a sleep genre in the Elden Farge or the extension Shadow of the Tree of Elder, you need to understand how sleep (and eternal sleep) works on different enemies.
I would like to explain first that sleep is the least supported one in terms of the state effect in the Elden Fraternity ring. Thankfully, we got some new sleep gear in Shadow of the Tree of Elder to help build this genre, but overall, you will run into some obstacles when facing a boss that is highly resistant to sleep and need a backup weapon (or spell) . That is, sleep can still knock down the toughest enemies and create opportunities for stronger attacks.
A normal sleep state won't kill enemies, but - you guessed it - it will keep them asleep temporarily. This sleep lasts very short, or until you attack them again, which makes it very useful when you walk through troubled dungeons, as you would rather not kill every little monster.
But if you let ordinary enemies fall into eternal sleep, they will fall asleep and will not wake up. They will remain on the ground until you attack them multiple times (rather than once), cause a critical strike, or rest in the blessing.
However, Eternal Sleep works slightly differently on Boss or more powerful elite enemy monsters. First, some enemies are completely immune to sleep, so when this happens, you need a backup plan (we'll discuss in more detail in the guide later). For those enemies without immunity, imposing eternal sleep will cause them to rest briefly or be knocked down, depending on their resistance. They will stand up in a few seconds, so this is the ideal time to slam them with more powerful weapons, or to retreat for healing and buffs.
Elden's Eternal Sleeping School: Attributes and Careers
This timeless sleeping genre is an "entertainment" genre that uses DLC weapons, so you may not be able to get the main equipment of this genre before venturing into Shadow of the Tree of Elder. Therefore, this genre is suitable for players with approximately rune levels of 150-200, when you may be entering the shadow realm or a new game.
That said, if you're looking to use sleep in a new save, we do recommend some basic gaming weapons and gear to help you out.
Considering sleep accumulation and the scaling of mysterious attributes, just like bleeding, this eternal sleeping genre will have higher mysterious attributes. We also want to add agility attribute points to our weapons, and if needed, additional attribute points can be added. Therefore, I recommend using the Rogue Starter class because it has 13 points of agility and 14 points of mystery.
Your potion distribution will depend on your play style and how much FP you consume, but I found that for most genres, including this one, 10 Crimson and 4 Azure are the best choices.
As for your attribute assignment, I suggest you strive to achieve the following goals. Although these attributes have a lot of room for maneuver.
- Vitality: 60
- Reason: 20
- Endurance: 30
- Strength: 12
- Agility: 22
- Intellectual: 21
- Faith: 25
- Mysterious: 45/60
You should first prioritize vitality, rationality, endurance, and attributes required for the initial weapon, before focusing on mystery and agility. That said, you can complete the base game with less than 60 points of vitality, but I highly recommend having 60 points of vitality before entering DLC .
Replenish your rationality and endurance to the extent you feel right. You need enough FP and stamina so that it won't become a burden to you in combat. Death due to exhaustion of stamina in an otherwise good boss battle attempt, which means you can't dodge and nothing is worse than this. I recommend that the rationality and endurance be at least 20, and the endurance is best for more.
We want our weapons to have at least 12 points of power , otherwise we can ignore this attribute. You also only need at least 22 agility to use Santa Trina's Hidden Needle, but you can throw more attribute points on any secondary backup weapon as needed.
We need at least 21 intellect and 24 intellect to use the spells and prayers suggested in this genre, but if you choose to use a secondary weapon instead of any casting or buffs, you can actually use only 15 intellect and ignore the faith altogether. I recommend ignoring faith when you first start, because the buffs – and powerful prayers – are what you need to use when the bosses get stronger later in the game.
Last but not least, the essence of this genre is the mysterious attribute, and its soft cap is 45/60/80. Therefore, after meeting the attribute requirements of the weapon and increasing its vitality, I suggest you reach 45 points of mystery as soon as possible. After that, you need to try to increase this to 60 Mystery so that we can speed up the accumulation of state effects.
Elden's Eternal Sleeping School: Weapons
In "The Ring of the Ring of Eldon: Shadow of the Tree of Eldon", you don't have many choices in the Eternal Sleeping Genre. The two main weapons you want to use are St. Terina's Velvet Sword (located in the cave that enters through the jump platform northwest of the Stone Rift Cross) and The Hidden Needle of The Ooliya (a reward for completing the Ooliya's quest and defeating the DLC's final boss), and Ripple Crescent Hyperbolt (a drop from Albinorik's enemies from Elder Tree).
I found that Theorier's Hidden Needle was much faster to accumulate sleep against a single enemy, while St. Terina's Velvet Sword deals the most damage at 10, and its skill - Eternal Sleeping Mist - is more useful to the monsters. You can choose to switch between the two or stick with your favorite weapon; I personally prefer Theolier's Hidden Needle and use it for the most part, as well as Ripples Crescent and some spells.
The Hiorier's Hidden Needle can also cause considerable damage when it hits the enemy with a critical blow without having to let them fall asleep. For example, I tried to use this genre against the omniscient Sir O'Neal in the base game of Elden's Ring of Far. He wasn't completely asleep, but I was able to stagger him for 1-2 seconds, giving me enough time to attack with St. Trina's velvet sword and eventually wipe him out with indestructible thorns because he wouldn't stop firing the disc of divine damage at me.
So – as I’ve been saying – you really need a backup weapon or spell to use this genre because if you want to get through the boss quickly, the main weapon will test your patience. It would be even better if this weapon or spell is scaled with mysterious attributes, because that's the heart of this genre!
If you prefer using the melee genre as a whole, you might consider using Mog's Curse Sword or Blood River to easily stack the bleeding. Alternatively, a mysterious weapon that is applied to eternal sleeping oil —such as the Rippled Crescent Hyperbola or Rippled Blade —can be very good with this genre. To stay consistent – and to make as much sleep as possible – I personally recommend Ripple Crescent and Consumables.
On the other hand, if you prefer to use spells and prayers as backups (or use melee and spells and prayers at the same time, if you have enough attributes), you need to use a staff and/or a seal that scales with the mysterious attributes. For this, I equipped my motherly staff to use spells. It has S-level zoom with the Mysterious Properties, which means when things get tough we can take it out and start casting spells like Indestructible Thorns. Similarly, we have the Dragon Sacrifice Seal – also with the Mysterious Properties with S-level Scaling – for any prayer we want to use.
All in all, the main weapons you want are as follows:
- The Hidden Needle of Theolier (and/or St. Terina's Velvet Sword)
- Ripple Crescent Hyperbola (using eternal sleeping oil)
- Motherly Staff for Spells
- Dragon Sacrifice Seal for Prayer
If you like to use consumables, you can also use Eternal Sleeping Potion against your enemies!
Elden Farring Eternal Sleeping School: Battle Grey
In this Shadow of the Tree of Eld, we mainly use dark weapons, so war gray is not a big problem. If you happen to choose to use a standard secondary weapon, battle ash like Bloody Slash is the option you won't go wrong. Any weapon with a bleeding effect will ultimately benefit from our high mysterious attributes.
The Mist Raptor can also be fun if you like to use jump attacks, or if you like to use ranged skills at high pressure moments when you are under-potion, vacuum slash is also a good choice.
Eternal Sleeping School of Eldon: Talisman
In this eternal sleeping genre, we certainly use the Smiling Talisman of St. Terina to boost our attack power when we are near sleep. Besides that, we mainly focus on the amulets that increase attack power, as St. Terina's Hidden Needle and Velvet Sword can use attack power to increase.
- St. Trina's smile – it increases attack power when you have sleep nearby.
- Rotten Feather-Winged Sword Badge – greatly improves the attack power of continuous attacks.
- Millicent's Prosthetic - Improves Agility and Increases the Attack Power of Continuous Attacks.
- Dragon Emblem Large Shield Talisman - greatly offsets physical damage.
- Caglia's meticulous heraldry - FP to reduce skill consumption.
- Claw Talisman – Enhanced Jump Attack.
St. Trina's smile and rotten feather-winged sword badge are a must-have for this genre and can really produce as much attack damage as possible. Then I recommend Millicent's prosthetic or claw talisman, depending on how often you use your jump attack, or whether you need agility.
In addition, the Dragon Emblem Big Shield Talisman is one of the best damage reduction amulets. The Caglia meticulous heraldry reduces the FP of skill consumption, and we often use skills in this genre.
Or, if you happen to use a bleeding weapon—or an indestructible thorn—and your sleeping gear, then using the Blood Lord’s delight talisman might also be worth considering. This will increase attack power when there is blood loss nearby.
Likewise, the inscribed Colossus talisman or the Flock Canvas talisman will enhance the power of your spell and prayer respectively, so if you have spells and prayers as backup attacks, you can consider either of them.
Elden's Eternal Sleeping Genre: Spells and Prayer
Whether spells and prayers are used in this Eternal Sleeping Clan is entirely up to you and the attributes you have. If you use The Hidden Needle of Theolier or St. Terina's Velvet Sword and Ripple Crescent Halberd, you may find that you don't actually need any additional ways to attack your opponent. The same can be said if you choose to use a bleeding weapon and any sleep weapon.
That said, the following spells and prayers are very useful to me if you can save 25 rune levels for your faith.
- Indestructible Thorns – Summon three waves of Thorns from the ground with incredible range. Deals bleeding to enemies and knock them down.
- Golden Vow – Improve the attack and defense of oneself and nearby allies.
- Flame, give me strength - enhance physical and flame attack power.
The Golden Vow and the Flame, Give Me Power are two important prayers for strengthening the attack power, and I recommend almost all genres that can use faith. I also highly recommend the indestructible thorn spell as it can cause huge damage every time you hit it when cast with a mother's staff.
You can give up most other spells and prayers, and frankly, if your Ripple Crescent Halberd doesn't work, then the indestructible thorns should certainly work. That said, I recommend Pest Line (or Pest Line Spear) and Northern Lights Mist as two personal favorite emergency spells, but you can choose the spells you have attributes and find the ones you find fun.
Elden's Eternal Sleeping Genre: Armor and Equipment
Armor does not matter in this genre, as there is no armor in the Elden ring that will ultimately help us impose sleep. So, choose any armor you think looks cool or fits in this genre.
I chose the Divine Skin Apostle suit because it feels perfect for this genre, but the Reyrana suit and the Fia suit are also suitable for this genre. There is also a naval hood that can increase the rationality by 1, which pairs well with many other armors.
