In Minecraft, whether leather, iron, diamond or netherworld alloy equipment will wear out. After using enough times (armor is enough to withstand enough attacks), they will eventually be damaged and disappear, and the previous efforts will be wasted.
That's why "Durable" enchantment becomes one of the best enchantments in the game (if not the best) as it fixes your gear in the only sustainable way. Of course, it is also one of the hardest enchantments to obtain. Fortunately, we put together a guide to getting "durable" enchantments, including the most reliable methods.
What is durability?
Durability is an enchantment that works for all tools, armor and non-throwing weapons in the game, conflicting only with infinite enchantments of the bow. If the equipment is worn or held, it will use the experience ball to repair its durability damage.
Obtaining durability changes the way you play, because any equipment with durability does not need to be replaced except for death and bad luck. This means you are free to get all the best enchantments on your strongest weapon without worrying about losing all the effort you put into it.
Even other repair methods have their limitations: the whetstone removes the enchantment, and the previous repair penalty means that the anvil repair will eventually become too expensive. Once your perfect gear is attached with durability, you no longer have to worry about your gear and can focus on other things.
How to obtain durability?
Durability is a treasure enchantment that cannot be found on the enchantment platform but is obtained through other means. Treasure enchantment can be obtained in two ways: already attached to the equipment or in the enchantment book.
Where to get durability?
You can get enchantments or equipment in treasure chests that are located in the main world, underwater, lower world and end generated structures. These places are usually similar to dungeons, including mines, fortress ruins and end cities.
Due to the way loot is generated, this is not a reliable way to obtain durable enchantment. Although the chance of obtaining an enchantment book is not low, the possibility of obtaining an enchantment book with durability is not high, because each book can have almost any kind of enchantment that exists in the game.
This is also true for any enchanting equipment found in the loot box, although the odds are slightly higher, as most enchantments only work on specific equipment, limiting the number of available enchantments and increasing the chance of having durability.
How to get durability from villagers
The most reliable way to get durability, especially enchantments, is to trade from villagers. In particular, you need to trade with librarian villagers. The librarian guarantees to trade up to four different random enchantments at the highest level, each with a chance to be durable.
This method is so reliable because as long as you don't trade with them, you can re-randomize their transactions by destroying their podium and then replacing them. Since you can't trade with them, they can't upgrade, only their newbie deals are available. However, this is enough because every time they re-roll the dice, they have a chance to get almost any enchantment or bookshelf. This includes treasure enchantment, and most importantly, durability.

How to quickly re-roll dice trade
Manually destroying and replacing the librarian’s podium until durability is tedious and time-consuming. If you try to deal with multiple librarians at once, it is nearly impossible. However, there are some steps to make it faster and easier:
Find your librarian
Ideally, you should do this in a new village with only one or fewer librarians so you can decide how many librarians you want to work with. Fewer librarians mean it’s easier to find and move them, but more librarians mean one of them has more chances to gain durability.
If you are adding more librarians, make sure to put their podium in one place, easy to access and on the first floor. Move the existing podium to that place as well.
Quarantine your librarian
Once you put all the podiums in one place, drive all the librarians to that place one at a time. If they are nearby, you can walk to them and gently push them in the right direction. If not, or if they are stubborn, you can put them in a boat or mine cart and move them to the right place.
Once they get there, make sure they can’t leave. You can use a small compartment to surround them if you want, but digging two cubes deep and pushing them in is just as effective. If you do this, place a square two squares above their heads so that other villagers don't fall into the hole.
Build and place sticky pistons
Build the same number of viscous pistons according to the number of podiums. The sticky piston is made of pistons, which in turn are made of four pebbles, three wooden boards, one iron and one redstone powder. Then use slime balls to make the pistons, which are plundered from slimes and can sometimes be traded from wandering merchants.
Place the sticky piston on the ground, facing upward. Place a button next to all sticky pistons. Ideally, in this setup you want three sticky pistons. If there are more, the button will be even harder to press. Press the button and if all the pistons stick out, then you're doing it right.
Place the podium
Make sure your sticky piston sets up with at least three blocks of gaps above, then destroy and place the podium on the sticky piston.
Press the button
When you press the button, the sticky piston should push all the podium upwards and pull it back. As they rise, this removes all librarians' work connected to them and then resumes their work as they fall.
Librarians should have different deals, just check which one they find is durable and make sure to trade with them to lock it. If you don't get the desired results, press the button and check them until you get the desired results.
This process is not limited to durability or even librarians. Replace the podium with the career blocks of the craftsman you want to get the ideal deal from any employed villagers.
