Escape From Tarkov Arena's 0.3.0 update, released alongside Tarkov's 0.16.5.5 patch, introduces significant changes. The most notable is Arena's first-ever battle pass – a free offering boasting over 100 unlockable rewards. While many rewards are standard fare, the inclusion of weapon skins marks a significant first for Tarkov.
These Arena battle pass skins are surprisingly detailed, featuring diverse camouflages spread throughout the pass. Uniquely, these skins aren't limited to entire weapons; they can be applied to individual attachments like silencers, creating highly customizable looks. Players can equip up to three camouflages on a single weapon, a feature likely to expand in future updates.
Currently, only 13 weapons support skins, a limitation that may disappoint some. However, given the developers' commitment to ongoing Arena support through future battle passes, expect this weapon list to grow considerably.
Both patch notes also highlight a substantial rework of the Prapor (Ref) tasks in the main Tarkov game. All tasks have been adjusted, generally simplified, and offer improved rewards, making completion significantly more worthwhile. The extensive list of changes is detailed in the full patch notes (be prepared for a lengthy read!).
The main Tarkov game sees relatively few other changes; however, the Arena update is packed with improvements. These include a revamped social system, an English-speaking announcer, a new Last Hero map, and numerous balance adjustments.
This Arena update coincides with its launch on the Epic Games Store, scheduled for April 10th. This wider availability is expected to revitalize Arena, introducing it to a large influx of new players.
