Forbes NYT Connections Hints and Answers for Friday, April 4th

Hello word game enthusiasts! This article provides hints and answers for the New York Times Connections game on Friday, April 4th. Let's dive in!

I prefer to be addressed by my first name, Kris. I find it more respectful to use the name people prefer. This principle applies to all interactions, both online and offline.

Before we get started, I've created a Discord group for discussing NYT Connections and this column. It's a friendly community where we discuss more than just NYT games. It's also the best place to provide feedback.

How to Play Connections

Connections is a daily word game from the New York Times. You arrange 16 words into four groups of four based on their relationships. There's only one correct solution. Incorrect guesses cost you a life; four incorrect guesses end the game.

Today's Connections Hints

Remember to scroll slowly to avoid spoilers!

The 16 words are: CROSSWORD, TIME, STAR, SIGN, RAINBOW, MENU, CONTRACT, BILLBOARD, BANNER, PEOPLE, GRIMACE, ENGAGE, RETAIN, HEADER, SEMBLANCE, SIDEBAR.

Here are the hints:

  • Yellow Group: Relates to giving someone work.
  • Green Group: Think parts of a website layout.
  • Blue Group: Similar to a collection of publications with regular billing cycles.
  • Purple Group: Consider words that end with something reminiscent of medieval weaponry.

Today's Connections Groups (Spoiler Alert!)

Still need help? Here are the group categories:

  • Yellow Group: Employ
  • Green Group: Parts of a website
  • Blue Group: Magazines
  • Purple Group: Words ending with medieval weapons

Today's Connections Answers (Major Spoiler Alert!)

Ready for the answers? Here they are:

  • Yellow Group: CONTRACT, ENGAGE, RETAIN, SIGN
  • Green Group: BANNER, HEADER, MENU, SIDEBAR
  • Blue Group: BILLBOARD, PEOPLE, STAR, TIME
  • Purple Group: CROSSWORD, GRIMACE, RAINBOW, SEMBLANCE

My Experience

I found this puzzle challenging. The purple group was particularly tricky. The connections are based on words ending with parts of medieval weapons (sword, mace, bow, lance).

Song Recommendation

My partner recommended "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley and the Wailers – a fitting song for a relaxing weekend!

Have a wonderful day! Remember to stay hydrated and connect with loved ones! You can follow my blog for more word game solutions and other content. I also welcome you to follow me on Bluesky!
