How to remove table formatting in Excel

Removing Table Formatting While Retaining Functionality

To remove the predefined formatting of an Excel table, follow these steps:

1. Select any cell within your table.

2. Go to the "Table Design" tab. In the "Table Styles" group, choose the first style in the "Light" group, labeled "None".
   Alternatively, click the "More" button in the "Table Styles" group and select "Clear" from the bottom of the menu.

   

This removes the predefined formatting, leaving a fully functional table without any styling. Your existing cell formatting (fonts, colors, etc.) will remain.

Important Note: This only removes the predefined table formatting, not any custom formatting you've added manually.

Removing All Formatting from a Table

To remove all formatting (predefined and custom), do this:

Converting a Table to a Range
