Threads App Update: Choose Your Default Feed and More!
Threads finally lets you select a default feed – "Following" or a custom feed – for when you open the app. This means you'll see posts from the accounts you follow, rather than the algorithm's choices. This highly requested feature, along with other improvements, is rolling out now.
How to Set Your Default Feed to "Following"
Changing your default feed is easy:
- Open the Threads app and go to the Home tab.
- At the top, below the Threads logo, you'll find your feeds. Tap and hold any feed and choose Edit Feeds.
- Reorder your feeds by dragging and dropping. The top feed becomes your default.
Set your default to "Following" or any custom feed. Keep in mind the rollout is gradual, so it might take some time to appear on your device.
New Features in the Threads Update
This update also includes:
-
Improved Video Player: A much-needed upgrade! The new player boasts basic controls (play/pause, 10-second skip forward/backward) and a user-friendly progress bar. No more endless looping videos!
-
Control Replies and Quotes: When creating a post, you can now limit replies and quotes to your followers, mentioned accounts, or those you follow. This is accessed via the "Anyone can reply & quote" button.
-
Profile Topics (Beta): Meta is testing the addition of up to 10 topics to your profile. Clicking these topics will show related conversations, similar to hashtags. You might also see a button to add trending topics to your posts for broader reach.

mPDF
mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
