Blizzard Confirms There Will Be No BlizzCon 2025, But There Is Something Huge In The Works For 2026

Blizzard confirms no BlizzCon in 2025, but announces a grand return in 2026! After a year of silence, and several previous cancellations, Blizzard has revealed that BlizzCon 2026 will take place September 12-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The company promises a bigger and better event than ever before.

A recent announcement on X confirmed the in-person return, accompanied by a short teaser trailer. A press release detailed the return of fan-favorite elements, including the Opening Ceremony, Darkmoon Faire, in-depth panels, competitions, and hands-on gameplay. Blizzard stated, “We’ve come a long way since our first event in 2005. Over the past nearly 20 years since its inception, BlizzCon has inspired us to innovate, push the boundaries of creativity, and deliver once-in-a-lifetime moments.”

The absence of a 2025 event, and the lack of any announcement regarding a virtual alternative, leaves some questions unanswered.

BlizzCon 2026: A Celebration Elevated

The skipped 2025 event follows a history of cancellations, including a 2006 cancellation, a consistent annual run until 2012, and a COVID-related cancellation in 2020. This will mark two consecutive years without a BlizzCon. This extended break fuels speculation that Blizzard is working on significant announcements for the 2026 event.
