Conquer the Factory Warden in Split Fiction: A Comprehensive Guide
Team up with your co-op partner and prepare for an epic battle against the Factory Warden, a colossal multi-legged robot lurking within Chapter 4's Test Chamber. This guide provides a detailed walkthrough, covering attack patterns, phase mechanics, environmental strategies, and optimal counter-moves to ensure your victory.
Initiating the Factory Warden Boss Fight
Upon entering the boss arena, you'll find two colored boxes suspended above and corresponding launch pads below. To begin the fight:
- Zoe activates the blue station by placing her Shield Buster on the blue box, then returns to her launch pad.
- Mio launches towards the blue box using Zoe's pad.
- Zoe fires the switch, propelling Mio. As Mio nears, Zoe detonates the Shield Buster, opening the station.
- Mio activates the blue station and automatically returns.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for Mio's red station.
Once both stations are activated, the Factory Warden awakens. Precise timing is crucial, especially for Zoe, to avoid being instantly eliminated.
Phase One: Leg Destruction
The Factory Warden possesses eight legs, but focus on two: one marked with a blue circle, the other with a red triangle. Each leg has three layers: metal plate, shield, and two switches. Destroy a leg by coordinating these actions:
- One player shoots the marked spot to open the metal plate.
- The other player destroys the revealed shield.
- Both players simultaneously shoot their corresponding switches.
Destroying a leg triggers a curled-up phase where the Warden spawns drones. Eliminate these quickly.
Additional Warden Attacks and Counters:
Ability | Description | Counter |
---|---|---|
Fire Beam | A straight line of fire. | Dash to evade. |
Bullet Spin | Spinning head attack with circular bullet pattern. | Avoid the head and falling casings. |
Leg Stomp | A single leg slams down. | Dash to evade. |
Jump Slam | Leaping attack creating an expanding ring of fire. | Jump over the flames. |
Repeat the leg destruction process until all legs are destroyed. Swift execution is key; delays reset the leg's defenses.
Phase Two: Back Switches and Toxic Mines
After destroying all legs, two large switches appear on the Warden's back. The arena floor opens, revealing toxic water. The Warden now uses green toxin, followed by fire, and tracking land mines. Shoot mines before detonation.
Use the launch pads to reach the back switches, utilizing slow motion during the launch. Grapples around the arena aid quick traversal.
Activating both switches sends the Warden into Phase Three.
Phase Three: Head-on Assault and Toxic Flood
The Warden emerges with only its head, shielded by a color-changing defense. Match the shield's color with the correct Shield Buster to break through. When weakened, it collapses, emitting green fire pulses. Jump to dodge and attack.
Jump onto its head, pry open the metal plate, and unleash a barrage of attacks. The Warden will fly, but continue shooting. The top of its head will explode, triggering a toxic flood.
Stay on the remaining platforms to avoid the toxic water. The Warden will continue its attacks; evade and counter when possible. Repeat the head-on assault until the final stage.
The final blow requires activating the hydraulic presses to crush the Warden three times. Victory is yours!
