WhatsApp enhances chat personalization with new customization options! Now you can tailor your chats using pre-set themes or mix-and-match colors for backgrounds and chat bubbles. Plus, 30 new wallpapers are available for selection.
WhatsApp users have long enjoyed the ability to change chat backgrounds, choosing from solid colors, patterned wallpapers, or personal images. This update extends customization to chat bubbles themselves. You can now select coordinated background and chat bubble colors from default themes, or customize either (or both) individually for specific chats or all your conversations.
As announced in a WhatsApp blog post, this theme rollout is currently underway and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
How to Change WhatsApp Chat Themes:
To apply a theme to all chats, navigate to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme. For individual chat themes, open the conversation and tap the chat name (iOS) or the three vertical dots (Android) at the top, then select Chat theme. You can also change the chat wallpaper from this menu.
If these settings aren't yet visible, the feature may not have reached your device. Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
This update follows WhatsApp's recent additions of selective video call participants and new video effects.
