This feed, accessible via a new bar displaying friend's profile pictures in the top right corner of the Reels interface, allows users to browse videos their friends have liked. Each video displays the number of friends who liked it, and users can tap a profile picture to confirm the like and respond via direct message (DM) with text or emojis. The recipient receives a DM showing a video thumbnail, the reaction, and a clear indication that it's a reply to their like.

While Instagram previously showed likes sporadically, this update makes them far more prominent. While potentially helpful for discovering content aligned with friends' tastes, it also raises concerns. The sheer volume of Reels content and the often questionable nature of some videos might deter users from liking content they wouldn't want their friends to see.

Unfortunately, there's currently no option to disable this feature, despite Instagram's existing ability to hide likes on posts and Reels. Users should therefore anticipate their friends seeing their liked Reels.
