Managing your ever-growing streaming list can be a challenge. Luckily, Google offers a helpful solution: its improved Watchlist tool. This handy feature, often overlooked, lets you track movies you want to see across various platforms.
Access Google Watchlist via any Google search interface, ensuring you're logged into your Google account. Search for a movie; if Google recognizes it, a "Watchlist" button will appear alongside viewing options and other details. Click it to add the movie. A "Watched" button is also present, but its functionality is currently unclear.
The "Watchlist" button persists across searches. If you're searching for something less common, adding "movie" to your search query might help.
The simplest way to view your watchlist is by searching "my watchlist" on Google. This displays all bookmarked films, allowing you to view details and remove entries.
Alternatively, on Android TV devices (including Chromecast with Google TV), your watchlist appears in the Library tab. The Google TV app for Android (no iOS app currently) also provides a dedicated "Watchlist" button for direct access. You can add and remove titles within the app.
Finally, google.com/save also displays your watchlist alongside other saved Google items. While this page seems less actively maintained, it provides another access point.
While Google Watchlist's "Watched" functionality is limited, it remains a useful tool for cross-device movie tracking via your Google account. Future improvements are anticipated.
