Instagram has announced that adding links to Stories is now available to all users! Previously, this feature was restricted to verified accounts or those with at least 10,000 followers.
How to Add a Link to Your Instagram Story
Adding a link is now as simple as adding any other sticker.
Create your Story: Open the Instagram app and swipe right to access the Story creation interface. Select a photo or video.
Access Stickers: Tap the sticker icon (a smiling square with a peeled corner) at the top of the screen, or swipe up from the bottom.
Add the Link Sticker: Tap the "Link" sticker. If you don't see it, the feature may not yet be available to your account. Try updating your app and checking back later. Instagram is rolling this out gradually.
Enter the URL: Paste or type your link into the "Add Link" interface. Use the ".com" suggestion on iOS keyboards if needed. Tap "Done." You can preview the link before posting.
Customize and Share: Adjust the sticker's size and style. You can only add one link per Story. Share to your Story or Close Friends.
Important Considerations:
Account Restrictions: New accounts may need to wait a period of time before gaining access to this feature. Violating Instagram's community guidelines could result in losing link access.
Styling Limitations: Currently, link sticker resizing is limited (approximately ⅓ to ⅔ screen width), and only four styles are available. Instagram plans to add more customization options.
In-App Browser: Links open in Instagram's built-in browser, but users can switch to their preferred browser using the three dots in the top right corner.
