After over a decade with my trusty but heavy Razer Naga, I was hesitant to try a lightweight gaming mouse. The NZXT Lift Elite Wireless, however, pleasantly surprised me, proving both comfortable and highly effective in gameplay.

Expand No-Frills Functionality, Exceptional Performance
The Lift Elite Wireless is a highly effective, no-nonsense performer. It excels at its core functions without unnecessary complexities. In a market saturated with feature-heavy devices, its simplicity is refreshing. Setup was quick and intuitive, allowing for precise DPI and polling rate adjustments that significantly enhanced both FPS and MMO gameplay. The reduced weight compared to heavier mice dramatically improved comfort.
While weighing only 53g, the mouse provides a satisfying tactile experience, striking a balance between lightness and control. The ergonomic design is excellent; my hand rested naturally, with easy access to all buttons. The large side buttons were particularly well-placed.
My only concern is its size; it might be too small for users with larger hands. My palm occasionally slipped, causing friction. This might not be an issue for those with smaller hands.
The "lift" feature (sensor continues reading input when slightly raised) worked as advertised, though I didn't find myself using it frequently.
Software Customization: Simple and Effective
The NZXT CAM software provides straightforward customization. I found it reliable and easy to use, unlike my experiences with the software in other contexts. Features include DPI settings (five profiles), polling rates up to 4,000 Hz, power-saving modes, and button remapping (including macro creation). Profiles are stored locally on the mouse, ensuring settings are retained across different computers. Profile and DPI switching is done via a button on the mouse's underside.
Battery life is excellent, lasting all day at 2,000 Hz or higher, and around three days at lower polling rates. The quick charge time (just over an hour) is a significant advantage.
Connectivity: Strong Performance, Bluetooth Absence
The Lift Elite Wireless uses a 2.4 GHz connection (wired mode also available). The lack of Bluetooth is a notable omission, preventing compatibility with some tablets and phones. Switching between my PC and MacBook required moving the receiver. However, the 2.4 GHz connection was consistently reliable.
Should You Buy the NZXT Lift Elite Wireless?
At $79.99, the Lift Elite Wireless offers competitive pricing and features compared to similar mice from major brands. Its simplicity and strong performance make it a compelling choice, especially for users who don't require Bluetooth. I highly recommend it.
